About Us
Here in Sampford Peverell, and several surrounding villages, we have the chance to become part of not just one community, but two. That’s because we’re twinned with the charming village of Notre-Dame-de-Courson in Normandy, France, and several nearby villages there too. If you would like to get involved and join us, then we’d be delighted to have you along.
Twinning is an ideal way to get to know another country, not just by visiting as a tourist but by staying with local people and becoming a part of the community.
Every year we run an exchange visit – either they visit us or we visit them, usually for four or five days. Each day during your stay you’ll meet up with other guests and their hosts for organised visits and events. When they visit us, it’s a great chance to welcome someone into your own home and to make new friends in our own community, too.
And it really doesn’t matter if you can’t speak a word of French. It’s the fun that counts.
